Where to Eat and Shop in the Proctor District of Tacoma
The Proctor district of Tacoma is an up and coming neighborhood with lots to do. It is a neat area with shops and restaurants, oh and fish. It's funny because I feel like every city has some type of animal statue throughout the city, and for Tacoma, it's Salmon. You can find differently decorated versions in all the districts of Tacoma

Great Restaurants near Joint Base Lewis-McChord
There is no shortage of great places to get delicious food around JBLM. Trust me when I say there are tons of restaurants and majority of them are decent. I'm just naming a few, not even a handful of the ones in the area.

Visiting Wolf Haven International
If you are looking for something really unique to do in the area, then this is it! Wolf Haven International is located about 30 minutes south of JBLM in Tenino. You must make reservations ahead of time so this is not somewhere you can go on a whim.

Mount St. Helens
Mount St. Helens is a great half day to full day adventure and just two hours from Joint Base Lewis-McChord. You may even get lucky and spot Big Foot on your trip! There are tons of different hikes and places to explore inside the Monument. Here are some spots we checked out on our trip!

Museums to visit on Joint Base Lewis-McChord
Lewis Army Museum I was pleasantly surprised with this museum. I was expecting something small with mediocre displays but they have actually put a lot of thought, effort, and money into this museum.

Visiting the Hobbit House at Brother’s Greenhouse
Ever wanted to see a real life Hobbit House but didn't have the funds to visit New Zealand? Great News! There is one right here in Washington a mere forty minute drive from JBLM.

Hiking Twin Falls & Weeks Falls
Both of these waterfalls are located about an hour and fifteen minutes from JBLM. You can hit both on the same day since the trails are about ten minutes apart. You will need a Discover Pass. This pass is $30 for the year, $10 for a day pass, OR you can check it out for free at your local library. If you start out at Twin Falls you can pay with cash or card since there is a machine there.
