Tolmie State Park does require a Discover Pass. This is a pass that will get you into Washington State Parks. It is $30 for a year or you can always purchase a day pass for $10. If you are lucky enough to grab one, you can also check them out at any local library for free! You can purchase a yearly pass online before you go or purchase a day pass at the park.

The parking lot at the trailhead is small but there is another parking lot when you first come into the park with more parking.

There are a few different trails here at Tolmie. We specifically hiked the Four Cedars Outer Loop. It is rated as Moderate on All Trails but I would rate it as Easy. Just 1.8 miles so not too long if you have smaller kids. If you go after its been raining, beware. It was SUPER muddy when we went. Like over your ankles muddy.

This trail is so lush, it reminds me of the Quinault and HOH Rainforests!

Here’s that mud I was talking about.

Tolmie also has a beach! Walk down to the beach and have lunch with picnic tables, grills, and plenty of space to spread out.

The best time to check out the beach is during low tide! You can find clams, oysters, sand dollars, crabs and more.

Finding the fun everywhere life takes us!
