Savor Seattle Food Tours: Pike Place Market

We recently did a tour with Savor Seattle inside Pike Place Market. We really enjoyed it and I would highly recommend! Here are some of the things we indulged in on the tour and some benefits of being with a tour rather than alone.

Savor Seattle Pike Place Market Food Tour
This tour is around $45 per person and SO worth it! Y’all know me, I’m a major foodie, so this was a must do. Savor Seattle offers a few different food tours so I hope to check out some of the others on a future trip. What I also love about these types of tours is that they usually tell you about the history. You’ll learn all about how Pikes Place Market came to be and about the businesses you stop to taste at. Best part is that you don’t have to wait in ANY lines! A perk of the tour is that your host walks right up to grab the samples, no waiting.

Our first stop was Daily Dozen Doughnut Company. These are those classic cinnamon sugar mini donuts that everyone loves. Next was my favorite stop, Ellenos. We got to sample two flavors of their Greek yogurt, marionberry and passion fruit. The marionberry is the best yogurt I’ve ever had, and I am honestly not a fan of Greek yogurt. Luckily, I can get it delivered straight to our house.

Cheese please! It’s time for Beecher’s Cheese with three types of cheeses to sample. You can actually see the cheese being made in the large vats they have in the store. You’ll get to sample the fresh curds, aged cheddar, and thier famous mac and cheese. All three were delicious, but I loved the aged cheddar. Our Costco carries Beechers items, so I purchase them frequently.

You can’t visit Seattle without eating some type of seafood. I introduce you to Pike Place Chowder. The most delicious clam chowder, ever. When you go back make sure to grab the tasting trio of their three most popular chowders. They seriously need to can it and sell it in my grocery store.

We had discovered Piroshky Piroshky before our tour. When we saw how long of a line they had we knew it must be good. It’s divine! On the food tour you’ll sample the beef and cheese and the apple cinnamon roll. I highly recommend the apricot turnover and the marionberry vatrushka too.

Chukar Cherries. Typing this makes me want to go downstairs and grab the bagful. I’m not a super cherry fan but dang are they some chocolatey covered goodness. You’ll get to sample five different items, including non-cherry. Also, if you sign up for emails with them you can get a free bag.

You’ll end the tour at Etta’s with a crab cake. It wasn’t my favorite but Travis and Aurora loved it.

Side note about the tour, it is almost completely outdoors. Make sure you check the weather prior to coming and dress appropriately.
