How to find the Rainbow Railroad Tracks in Olympia
Once I saw a photo of these colorful railroad tracks in Olympia I knew we had to make a trip to find them! The address on Google kinda dumps you out in the middle of nowhere so here are some better directions on how to find them and what to expect.

Schilter Family Farm
Schilter Family Farm is the closest pumpkin patch so we usually visit every year. This farm has lots of activities, cute photo spots, and tons of fun.

Tolmie State Park
Tolmie State Park is a great place to spend the day hiking, grilling and playing the water. This park is dog friendly and only thirty minutes from JBLM. Read about what there is to do and the pass you need.

Tumwater Falls Trail
I'll be honest, this trail really isn't a hike. Its more like a nice walk. The path is loose gravel but nice and wide as well as stroller friendly. Tumwater Falls is just 0.8 of a mile but it is so beautiful, it's absolutely worth going!

If you are looking for a Lavender Farm to visit closer to home, then Evergreen Valley is a must do! This farm is located in Olympia just thirty minutes from JBLM. Best part? You can see Tow Mater from Cars!

Visiting Wolf Haven International
If you are looking for something really unique to do in the area, then this is it! Wolf Haven International is located about 30 minutes south of JBLM in Tenino. You must make reservations ahead of time so this is not somewhere you can go on a whim.

Historic Downtown Olympia
Olympia is the capital of Washington, which I had since forgotten from….what grade did we have to memorize state capitals? It's a gorgeous small town on the coast of Washington. It's full of charm and is one of my favorite places to visit since it's just twenty minutes from us.
