Operation Deploy Your Dress

Did you know that as a military spouse there is a place where you can get two FREE dresses and an accessory each year? Operation Deploy Your Dress (ODYD) was founded on Fort Bliss in 2015 when some spouses decided to organize a dress swap. It has now grown into over 12 locations across the world.

What do I need?
You must have a valid military ID or be accompanied by someone with a valid military ID or retiree ID.

We have our very own Operation Deploy Your Dress located on Fort Lewis Main. I recently visited and was very impressed at the selection and boutique set up.

What are the hours?
Tuesdays 6-8pm
Wednesdays 11am-1pm & 6-8pm

Normally, you can choose one dress and one accessory item per calendar year. The shop is so full of inventory they are allowing each ID card holder two dresses and one accessory this year. An accessory can be shoes, jewelry, a purse or scarf.

They have so many items to choose from! You do not have to take everything all at once. You can come two different times and get one dress then come back later in the year to grab another dress and an accessory.

Dresses are organized by size and color. There are formal dresses as well as more cocktail style dresses. You could grab a dress for a Christmas party, squadron event, date night or wedding guest dress.

I was able to find a formal gown I liked as well as a cocktail dress I plan to wear to our squadron Christmas party this year.

Operation Deploy Your Dress even has wedding dresses! Wedding dresses, veils, and wedding accessories. If you are in the wedding market, then make sure to check them out before paying an arm and a leg!

Can I donate?
If you have a dress, jewelry, or shoes you would like to donate to ODYD you can drop them off during business hours. Donations are always appreciated!
