Cookie Decorating Class with Sweet Dough Cookie Co
My mom was in town visiting so we decided to have a girls night! I've been following Sweet Dough Cookie Co for a while and met the owner, Ashlee at an event. She offers cookie decorating classes at different locations but the one we went to was in Chehalis.

Visiting Kalaloch Beach & Tree of Life
The main reason we went to check out Kalaloch Beach was to see the "Tree of Life". It is a giant tree with the roots exposed. You can use Apple apps to get to Kalaloch Campground for parking but I used Google Maps to take us directly to the tree. Just type in "Tree of Life".

Visiting Ruby Beach
We stopped here at Ruby Beach on our way up to Forks for a weekend trip. Technically Ruby Beach is considered Forks but it is a good hour outside of town. This is by far our favorite beach we have visited in Washington so far. Plan to go at low tide so you can see all of the sea life and tide pools. Low tide was at 9 am the day we went so we woke up really early to hit the road.

Taste Buzz Food Tour in Las Vegas
If you didn't know, I'm a huge foodie. I found the Taste Buzz Food Tour on TripAdvisor. I highly recommend taking it! It's a bit pricey at $89 per person, but SO worth it. This company also does other tours which I would've done if we had more time.

Things you must do when visiting Waco, Texas
Waco. Hmm.....what is Waco, Texas famous for again? Two words: Fixer Upper. Chip and Joanna Gaines put Waco on the map when thier show became very popular on HGTV. The show has since ended but thier empire now includes a store, a bakery, a restaurant, a huge following and an entire decorating style. We came to thier event, Spring at the Silos, and here's a few things I would also suggest for your visit to Waco!

What to do, see, and explore at the Sequim Lavender Festival
Lavender Farms are some of the most beautiful places to visit. If you've never been to one, I highly suggest visiting! We have so many around us and each of them are unique. Here all of the ones you can find in Sequim, Washington which is about two hours from JBLM.

Hiking Grove of the Patriarchs, Mount Rainier
For a day trip on Rainier, we headed over to Grove of The Patriarchs after doing another hike. This one is just 1.5 miles round trip and is a fifteen minute drive away from other popular hikes so they are easily doable in one day.

New Mexico, also known as the "Land of Enchantment", is most definitely the most interesting place we have ever lived. It is rich with a culture we never knew existed. Albuquerque is the biggest city in New Mexico with a crowded population of over 550,000 people. Here are a few fun things we've enjoyed on our trips to the big city.

Exploring Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge
Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is located in Olympia just twenty minutes from JBLM! It's got tons of walking trails, places to picnic, and makes a nice day outside if you need somewhere stroller friendly.
