Ocean Shores, Washington

Ocean Shores is a beach located on the southwest coast of Washington and offers a nice getaway. There are a few things to do and see in the town, here are some details of where we stayed, ate, and our favorite activities!

Shopping
There are a few cute shops to check out in Ocean Shores. This particular strip is brightly colored and cant be missed on the main road. My favorite shop in town was Soap Works. They have some delicious smelling locally made soap, scrubs, lotions, and also carry clothing and shoes. Also make sure to swing by Sharky’s and grab a photo in front of the giant shark.

Play at Pacific Paradise Park
This fun amusement park has putt putt golf, a snack bar, arcade, lazer tag, and more! We had a blast playing on a cool rainy day during our visit. The arcade has a card system so just fill a card at the pay station and swipe to play. We also did a round of putt putt golf. Combo packages are available to purchase.

Grab some Seafood
Grab some seafood at one of the local restaurants! We personally ate at Bennett’s Fish Shack and Home Port. Our rental for the weekend had a kitchen so we didn’t eat out a ton, we stayed in and cooked.

Shorebird Villas
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay, we stayed at Shorebird Villas. They had the cutest themed villas within walking distance of the beach. We stayed in the Hawaiian themed villa, “Hakuna Matata”. They also have an Egyptian theme, Pirate theme, and Medieval theme. The community area has a fire pit, picnic table, and a grill to use. The size was great for our family, and of course they are dog friendly. We saw deer eating outside every morning.

While you are in Ocean Shores check out the canals as well as the beach. The canals offer a gorgeous view. We checked out the newer area of Oyhut Bay, which provides a feel much like Seabrook of a small town with beach house rentals, amenities and shops/restaurants within walking distance.

I never want to come across as a negative person, and this is just my own personal opinion which I know not everyone will agree with, but I feel the need to be honest with you. We did not like the beach at Ocean Shores. It was really gross compared to other beaches we have been to on the coast. Maybe we hit it at a bad time, but it had a bunch of brownish foam everywhere that turned our shoes green. We made the best out of our trip and had fun in the town, but honestly we only spent about ten minutes at the beach and then left.
