What to do in Seaside, OR

Our favorite beach we’ve visited so far is by far Seaside Beach, Oregon. There are a ton of fun activities and attractions in Seaside besides the beach! Of course the gorgeous sandy beach is the main attraction, but here are some other places that are a must do during your stay.

Wheel Fun Rentals
Multiple Rental Locations in Seaside
Do something out of the ordinary and rent a surrey! These street cars are like bicycles you have to pedal (so not an easy ride). They can seat up to eight people in the triple surrey. You can also rent bicycles, trikes, tandem bikes, golf carts and more. Cruise around Seaside in style. Rentals start as low as $10. To view locations, rental info, and more, view their website HERE.

Seaside Aquarium
200 North Promenade, Seaside OR 97138
The aquarium is small but is great for the kids to see some local sea life, especially if it happens to rain during your stay and you need an indoor activity. Admission for the three of us was around $25.
For more info, view their website HERE.

I loved this display of the different types of shells and crabs you can find on Seaside Beach.

Let the kids have some fun touching different sea life in the touch tanks.

Seaside Inverted Experience
111 Broadway Street, Unit 11, Seaside OR 97138
This was one of our favorite experiences in Seaside! If you aren’t looking for it then you would probably walk right past it. It is so unique and fun, plus you can bring the entire family, even the dog! This attraction is a different take on a selfie museum, except all of the scenes are upside down or slanted.

This gives the “inverted” look on all of your photos. The attendant will come with you to each scene, take your photos, and tell you the best way to pose. Packages start at $15 (one person), $25 (couple), $40 (4 people) and so on. Every package comes with at least one 8 x 10 print.

To view packages, purchase tickets, and see more info, visit their website HERE.

Funland Arcade
201 Broadway, Seaside OR 98371
Here is a fun place for the entire family! Funland arcade is the biggest arcade we have ever been in. It has multiple rooms full of games with a range of age groups to occupy. They also have bumper cars and a pizza restaurant inside. Fill up a card and swipe to play.
View more info on their website HERE.

Ride a Paddle boat on the River
We never got the chance but it looked like so much fun! Rent a paddle boat and ride around on the river in the middle of town.

Scavenger Hunt
If you’re interested in doing a scavenger hunt, pick up a visitor’s guide from the Visitor’s Bureau and find the location of all the photos. If you complete it you can get a free iron on patch! One per family. You can even have a Visitor’s Guide mailed to you for FREE before your visit. View their website HERE.

Painted Rock Beach
This little area is a place to see visitors through the ages. Even better, bring your own painted rock to leave behind. The purpose of these rocks is not to be hidden like most painted rocks, they are there to stay so visitors can see your treasures. Directions to the beach will pull up on Google Maps. The path from the beach is marked with a rock trail and the actual painted rocks are right behind the houses.

Ride the Carousel
The carousel in inside the Carousel Mall and is every kid’s idea of fun. Pay just $3 to ride!

Shopping!
There are tons of cute little shops lining the downtown area of Seaside. Majority are on Broadway but there are also some on the side streets. They have anything from beach toys, home decor, clothing, jewelry, sweets, and more. A few of my favorites were:
Aspirin Shop (inside Carousel Mall)
Beach Puppy
Ter Har’s

Walk (or ride) the Promenade. It stretches 1.5 miles and is the best morning or evening walk. The view is amazing of the people, beach, dunes, resorts, and more.

I know the beach is why you’re really visiting Seaside, and it is GORGEOUS! Make sure to go at low tide one day to scout for sand dollars and other shells.

I found tons of cute little baby sand dollars.
