Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island
Oak Harbor is the biggest town on Whidbey Island and is where majority of the hotels are located. We stayed in the area and checked out the shops and restaurants downtown. Oak Harbor also has a ton of really cute murals and artwork throughout the town to check out. Here’s my picks on what to see during your trip to Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island.
Oak Harbor’s Downtown is about a three block strip of shops and restaurants. They also have this cute parking lot filled with multiple murals called The Allgire Project. The parking lot is especially for those visiting the artwork so you can park and snap some photos for free.
The other thing I loved about Oak Harbor was all the art installations. There are statues, painted fire hydrants, and more murals throughout downtown.
Oak Harbor also has some really cute shops downtown. A few of my favorites were:
Popsies – Candy & Ice Cream
Little Town Cottage – Beauty & Bath
Pioneer Sticker Shop – Whidbey Island Souveniers
Frida’s – Craft Supplies & Art
We grabbed lunch downtown at the Riverside Cafe. I liked that they had breakfast available and ordered the sausage gravy biscuits. Not the best I’ve ever had but it was a homey feel and had lots of options on the menu.
