Where to Stay in Friday Harbor

Friday Harbor is the cutest town located on San Juan Island. It is on the water and is where the ferries dock. If you’re looking for the details on where to stay and what to know during your stay, read on!

Our stay was complimentary but all opinions, photos, and this review is my own.

First thing to know, staying anywhere in the San Juan Islands is pricey. Most hotels average $350+ in peak season. Also, majority of accommodations on the island are Bed & Breakfasts, not hotels.

Another thing to know about places to stay in the islands…which I’ve never encountered this problem before…most are NOT kid friendly. Yep, you read that right. Most of the Bed & Breakfasts on the island do not allow kids or are only available for kids ages 12 and over.

We also take our fur baby Muffin with us everywhere we go. So not only did I need somewhere kid friendly, but also dog friendly.

I was so happy when I found the Tucker House Inn was dog friendly, family friendly, and located right in the heart of Friday Harbor. The Tucker House Inn is part of the San Juan Island Inn Collection. They own multiple accommodations on the island.

We stayed in the Victoria Garden suite. It was in the main house and we had a contact-less check in that was really easy. They sent us instructions via email on check in day with details on where to park, how to access our room, and directions from the harbor.

Upon arrival we had a card, fresh baked cookies, and even a home made treat for Muffin! We also had fresh juice, milk, and water in the fridge.

The kitchen is a full size and had all the cooking essentials we’d need to cook! They even left some snacks, tea, coffee, and hot coca in the cabinet.

The entire suite was very spacious. The living room was huge and there was a TV in both bedrooms in addition to the living room.

They even left Muffin man a mat and doggie bowls for us in case we needed them.

The suite was Victorian themed (I’m sure you could’ve guessed given the name) and there was lots of antique furniture. Our bed was really comfy.

Aurora was so excited to get her own room! Each room had their own bathroom with shower and toilet also.

The suite was fantastic! There is also a large side yard with plenty of room to play.

One of my favorite parts of staying at the Tucker House Inn was the home made breakfast we were delivered to our door in the morning. They have a menu for you to order from, placed the day before online and delivered to your door in the morning.

Our breakfast was incredible. Made from scratch everything bagels (Travis got salmon on his, mine plain), boiled eggs, house made granola with yogurt and french toast for Aurora. Those are the items we chose from the menu and of course they had offerings for kids too.

We enjoyed our breakfast on the dining table in the sun room.

Another great thing about the Tucker House Inn is the location. Not only is it walking distance to the ferry terminal, restaurants, shops, and more, it is also across the street from a park.

Sunken Park has a playground, basketball courts, picnic tables, and charcoal grills.

We had a fantastic stay at the Tucker House Inn. If you’re looking for a great family friendly bed and breakfast with spacious and thoughtful accommodations, then Tucker House Inn is for you!
