Friday Harbor, San Juan Island

Friday Harbor is the biggest (but is little) town on San Juan Island. This is where the ferry docks and where majority of people arrive at the island. Here are some things you don’t want to miss in Friday Harbor!

Walk Around the Harbor
There are lots of unique boats and yachts that dock in the harbor. Walk around out on the docks and have a closer look. This is also where most of the whale watching excursions leave from.

Support the Small Businesses
Friday Harbor is full of small shops. Grab some souvenirs to take back home. There is also a market if you forgot supplies or decide you need a jacket.

Take a Tour
We did a kayak tour out of Roche Harbor instead but there are tons of tours offered out of Friday Harbor. Boat tours, kayak tours, and whale watching tours. You can see what tours are available out of Friday Harbor by visiting the website HERE.

When we visited quite a few of the popular attractions were still closed courtesy of COVID-19 so here are those listed which we didn’t get to visit:
Whale Museum
San Juan Historical Museum
San Juan Islands Museum of Art
San Juan Island Zip Tour
