Lake Cushman
Lake Cushman is one of my favorite lakes in Washington and is a must do for its beautiful views and not-so-chilly water. It is located close to the southern part of Olympic National Park. We stopped at a day use area to enjoy the water, eat a picnic lunch, and use our new kayak.

There is a public park and boat launch area called Skokomish Park but it was closed when we visited (during Corona) so we opted for one of the many day use areas that are right off the main road. View information of amenities and hours for Skokomish Park HERE.
The day use area we stopped at had a port-o-potty (a nasty one) and picnic tables. The lake is very rocky so I highly suggest water shoes. My favorite are Teva’s which can be shopped below. Click the image to view.
I would recommend arriving early. We were the only ones when we arrived around 10 am. By 3 pm our day use area had about four families at it.
As I mentioned we wanted to take out our new kayak. Though we weren’t at the boat launch it was an easy carry down a few stairs to the water.
Right down from our area was a little waterfall we explored via kayak.
