Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is beautiful and one of my favorites to visit. Windsor is the oldest castle in the country and is still currently used by the Royal Family. Most recently, Windsor was the site of Prince Harry and Megans wedding. Located in the quaint and charming village of Windsor, it is definitely a must visit. Here is info on what to expect.

Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle tickets range from 15-28 pounds per person. Tickets are cheaper if you purchase them online before your visit. Inside the castle you can see the state rooms, Queen Mary’s doll house, and St.George’s Chapel. The line is long for Queen Mary’s doll house, but do not skip it, it is worth seeing!

You cannot take photos inside the castle, so here are a few from outside.

Don’t miss the little gift shop outside the castle, it has the cutest crochet scene from the Coronation on top of the Royal Mail box outside.

St. George’s Chapel is located on the grounds of Windsor Castle, and is currently closed. The late Queen Elizabeth was laid to rest there and needs time before the chapel is opened back up to visitors.

After your visit to Windsor Castle, make sure to walk around town, this is one of my favorite English villages. We had afternoon tea at Leaf inside the Castle Hotel. It was fabulous, once of my favorite teas yet. We had the Coronation afternoon tea, which is available for a limited time.

The town of Windsor is full of cute shops, historic pubs, and is home to a really nice train station. Closer to the castle you can find the smaller local shops and then at the train station you can find an abundance of the bigger chain stores.
