What to do, see, and explore at the Sequim Lavender Festival

Lavender Farms are some of the most beautiful places to visit. If you’ve never been to one, I highly suggest visiting! We have so many around us and each of them are unique. Here all of the ones you can find in Sequim, Washington which is about two hours from JBLM.

Lavender Festival in Sequim, WA
So we didn’t actually visit during the festival weekend. I had heard it was very crowded so we decided to go the two weekends before. Most of the Lavender Farms are open the entire month of July daily and majority of the summer. So you are welcome to visit anytime, it doesn’t have to be festival weekend! I printed out our map from the website and planned out our trip from there.
You can print out maps and read about the Lavender Farms here.

Just so you are aware, some of these lavender farms do charge an entry fee during the actual festival weekend. Also, some of these farms are not open to the public except during Lavender weekend.

Interestingly enough, majority of the Lavender Farms were actually dairy farms to begin with. The dairy farms were not doing good so they all got together to brainstorm. Someone realized that Sequim was the same type of weather and elevation as Provence, France which is known for its lavender. The rest is history, as they say.

The Farms are not in order of distance on here, scroll to the bottom and I put them in order for the easiest driving Loop!

B&B Family Farm
5883 Olympic Hwy, Sequim WA 98382
May – September: 9 am to 5 pm
See their website here.

We headed to B&B Family Farm first because it opens the earliest! Not only do you get in free but they offer a free 15-20 minute guided tour as well. B&B is pet friendly! On the tour, he told us about the lavender industry in Sequim and how their farm got started. He also explained to us about growing Lavender and showed us the different types.

After walking around the field he took us inside the barn. We got to see the machinery they use to clean the Lavender and separate the buds from the stems. They’ve got huge bundles of lavender hanging from the ceiling drying.

Of course that was my favorite part inside, because it makes a great photo backdrop.

The day we visited they were also distilling the Lavender. It was a cool process to hear about and see.

The farm has a gorgeous backdrop of the mountains for photos.

This pergola makes a great photo op too.

The gift shop has a ton of great items. I grabbed some lavender sachets ($1-2) and the bug spray ($8). Majority of the farms all sell the Lavender sachets but B&B is by far the cheapest! Lavender is one of my favorite scents so it was hard not to buy one of everything. You can do u-pick at this farm, it is $8 per person for a bunch. They also have lavender plants for just $5 which is a steal!

Victor’s Lavender Farm
3743 Old Olympic Hwy, Port Angeles WA 98362
Memorial Day Weekend through September
Tuesday – Sunday 10am to 5pm
See the website here.

Victors is a less than a five minute drive from B&B! Victor’s is set up a little differently with the shop in the front and the fields around the back.

My favorite purchase was the handmade clay pin ($8). Not a pen that you write with but a pin that you wear. I collect pins for my backpack! They also had some amazingly handmade clay hanging wall vases that my mom snagged one of. This is the only farm that has those handmade clay items. They have a lot to choose from.

You need to go around the side of the shop and check out the unique wood windows.

The windows make an amazing photo backdrop. They are for sale and are actually plant holders!

Victor’s Farm has every kind of lavender for sale, even this gorgeous pink Spanish Lavender!

They also have a great selection of succulent gardens that are very reasonably priced at $25-40.

Victor’s Farm hangs their Lavender against the barn wall instead of hanging in rows, so it made a great photo backdrop.

As far as the actual field goes, there is a bike in the field, though I’m not sure if it’s always there or if somebody just parked it there….and there are two cute purple Adirondack chairs waiting to be sat in.

Washington Lavender Farm
965 Finn Hall Road, Port Angeles WA 98362
Memorial Day to Labor Day
10-6 daily/Sunday 1-5 pm
See the website here.

The Washington Lavender Farm is on the coast so it had a bit of a wind chill off of the water. The plantation/colonial style house is gorgeous. It has fields of Lavender surrounding it, though not directly in front or behind. Make sure you walk around in the back to see the water. This farm also has some gorgeous wildflowers.

During the month of July they have tents set up with vendors and kids crafts. When we visited there was a lady teaching how to make Lavender wreaths and Lavender wands for around $15. We did see some leashed dogs walking around so I’m assuming they are allowed.

During the festival weekend and the weekend before the farm offers an afternoon tea. We made our reservation months ahead of time and paid $40/person.

It was not the best afternoon tea I’ve been to. The food was good but for an 11:30 reservation it was certainly not enough for lunch. We were still pretty hungry afterwards. The view was beautiful and we still had a great time.

Their gift shop was pretty overpriced in my opinion. Many of the things they have are cheaper at other farms.

Martha Lane Lavender
371 Martha Lane, Sequim WA 98382
Daily 10 am-5 pm during the summer
For their website, click here.

Martha Lane Farm is just five minutes from Washington Lavender Farm. It is a very small farm and there really isn’t anything to do. The shop is very very small and they have a minimal selection but they do have Lavender ice cream for sale.

The gazebo in the fields makes a great photo op so we did that and ran through the fields. We were only here about fifteen minutes.

Their beautiful Victorian style house is worth mentioning too, it was breathtaking.

Fat Cat Garden & Gifts
21 Fat Cat Lane, Sequim WA 98382
May 1 – September 3
9:30 am to 5 pm Closed Tuesday
See their website here.

Fat Cat Farm was not listed on the Lavender brochure. I found it in the Sequim Washington Maps & Lodging Guide.

I have to say, this is the farm we had the most fun at. There are goats, chickens, as well as waddling and quacking ducks wandering the grounds.

They do have one lavender field but the farm isn’t solely focused on Lavender, which we loved. You can u-pick Lavender and wildflowers here. They have the most beautiful garden of flowers in the front. They also offer u-pick marionberries! We picked a big bag and it was only $5.

They also have other organic fruits and vegetables available for sale in the gift shop. As well as flower bouquets, Lavender items, plants, and a large selection of other miscellaneous items.

Fat Cat Farm is just 10 minutes from Martha Lane.

We actually went back the next day to u-pick the wildflowers so we could take them home. It was just $5.

Lavender Connection
1141 Cays Road, Sequim WA 98382
July 4 through Labor Day
10 am – 5:30 pm daily
See their website here.

Lavender Connection is across the street from Fat Cats and is pet friendly! They also give a FREE bunch of Lavender (u-pick) to everyone with a military ID. I loved this farm because they have over thirty varieties of Lavender. They’ve got pink and white varieties so it makes a gorgeous bouquet.

This farm also wraps up their Lavender with tissue paper and ribbon, it makes it look really elegant.

They have a good little selection in the gift shop and are reasonably priced. Aurora had been wanting a handmade Lavender wand and they were just $3-6 here when everywhere else was $15-20.

For more info on Lavender Connection, click here.
Next we headed about twenty minutes down the road.

Olympic Lavender Company
1526 Marine Drive, Sequim WA 98382
June – August: Weds – Sun 10-5
See their website here.

This farm also has some gorgeous wildflowers around the property. They have a few pretty fields of Lavender and some giant sized purple Adirondack chairs to lounge in.

Dogs are not allowed anywhere on the property.

Olympic Lavender’s gift shop is by far the prettiest we went in. I picked up a lemon Lavender salt rub for $12.

Jardin du Soleil
3932 Sequim-Dungeness Way, Sequim WA 98382
April to September daily 10 am -5 pm
See their website here.

Jardin du Soleil has some gorgeous rolling Lavender fields. They also have a cute Greenhouse which makes a fantastic backdrop. Jardin du Soleil seems to be the biggest as far as property size and number of fields.

They host a brunch in the blooms event which we didn’t hear about until after, but it sounds amazing. They have goats and chickens on the property.

The gift shop is super cute and has a good selection of items including home decor. I picked up a Lavender Sprinkle Mix for $11 and a circular sticker for $5. Both of these items I hadn’t seen at any other farm. The sprinkle mix has dried blueberries, dried strawberries, Lavender, and sugar. This is the only farm I saw with stickers, it is an artist’s design of a painted Lavender field.

Purple Haze Lavender Farm
180 Bell Bottom Road, Sequim WA 98382
Memorial Day – Labor Day: 10 am – 5 pm
See their website here.

We finished Day 2 at Purple Haze. This farm stands out not just because it’s huge, but they have planted their Lavender in gorgeous multi color rows. In the front you can find alternating rows of purple Lavender and yellow chrysanthemums. In the back you can find alternating rows of pink and purple lavenders. Dogs are welcome here!

Purple Haze is also the only farm we visited that had a food stand. They had multiple flavors of ice cream, snacks, and drinks. We tried the white chocolate Lavender ice cream and the lemon chiffon Lavender ice cream, both were delicious!

They have a garden in the back of the property you can walk through as well as an Airbnb that looked really nice you can rent.

Aurora enjoyed checking out the chickens and bunnies as well. U-pick Lavender is just $5 per bundle here!

The store has a lot to choose from but it was more of the same that I’d seen all day so I didn’t get anything.

Graysmarsh Berry Farm
6187 Woodcock Road, Sequim WA 98382
Seasonal in the Summer: 10 am -5 pm
See their website here.

Graysmarsh Farm is humongous! There are acres and acres of berries and sunflowers, Lavender and more. They have a tent with picked fruits, veggies, and flowers but you can also u-pick.

We picked some blueberries and boysenberries.

We grabbed a sunflower and a bunch of onions, our total was $7. It was fun and so much cheaper than the grocery store!

Make sure you check out the sunflower field, it makes for gorgeous photos.

Graysmarsh also has a huge Lavender Farm that you can do u-pick in.

Nelson’s Duck Pond & Lavender Farm
73 Humble Hill Road, Sequim WA 98382
October – April: Thursday to Monday 10 am -5 pm
May – September: Daily 10 am -5 pm
Visit the website here.

Nelson’s is a cute farm and offers a rental house on the property! While the lavender field is quite small, they have great prices of Lavender plants ($5 or 3 plants for $12) and it is charming. The pond in the back is nice to sit by.

The shop has a nice selection and I particularly like the mixes they had. I grabbed a Lavender pound cake mix ($6), a pottery magnet ($5), and some earl grey Lavender tea ($3.50). I also grabbed a cup of Lavender lemonade from their daughter Tilly’s lemonade stand, it was fantastic.

Kitty B’s Lavender Farm
32 Cameron Acres Lane, Sequim WA 98382
For their website, click here.

Kitty B’s is a small family farm. It is a gorgeous residence and has a nice gazebo for sitting. It is quaint and the owners were very friendly. They’ve got a small shop set up in the barn.

Sunshine Herb & Lavender Farm
274154 Hwy 101, Sequim WA 98382
Summer: Daily 10 am -7 pm
See their website here.

This farm is right on Highway 101 and you can’t miss it. They have a huge selection of items but they are very expensive compared to the other farms we visited. While the lavender outside is beautiful, you can’t even walk in the fields. I highly suggest visiting one of the other farms listed if you want a true lavender farm experience. When you visit one of the farms in Sequim they are all a fun and enjoyable atmosphere, you meet the owners while visiting the farm. Sunshine is very gas station last minute souvenir stop feel.

With all that being said, if you are traveling and need somewhere to stop to stretch your legs and grab a snack, absolutely stop here! Aurora got a vanilla honey Lavender ice cream and I grabbed a Lavender lemonade slush, both were great!

Places to Eat in Sequim

We grabbed dinner at Nourish, which I had seen advertised and highly recommended. It is an organic farm to table restaurant and I would give it ten stars for sure! If you are vegan, paleo, non-dairy, vegetarian or a meat eater, they have a dish for you!

Best part? The restaurant is dog friendly! I highly suggest making a reservation because our waitress said they book up pretty fast. Our waitress encouraged us to walk around in the gardens while we waited for our food, which I found very relaxing as well as entertaining to kiddos that don’t want to sit too long.

Its definitely not the cheapest but you can’t get good food like this elsewhere. Travis ordered the lamb chops with beet and zucchini noodles and steamed mixed vegetables. It was $32 and worth every penny! I got the Chicken Pot Pie ($20) and it was delicious also. You can just tell when things are made from scratch.

Looking for somewhere to stay in Sequim?

We were really impressed with the Quality Inn & Suites. We booked it because it was the only hotel I could find that was under $200. I expected it to be a cheap hotel that we only want to sleep in and then bolt. It is newly updated inside and was super clean. It is pet friendly with just a $10 per night pet fee. You’ll get free breakfast and Internet, cookies available at the front desk each night, and excellent customer service. The breakfast is a buffet hot breakfast! Eggs, bacon, potatoes, breakfast burritos, waffles, cinnamon rolls, muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt and tons more. There is an indoor pool and hot tub that felt heavenly. They also have board games that you can check out at the front desk. They provide a portable dog bowl in your room for you and a makeup towel, it’s the little things that make a big difference.
