Underground Donut Tour Seattle
If you love donuts, then you need to check out the Underground Donut Tour. This tour is actually in a few cities around the United States, and I had the pleasure of doing the one in Seattle. We got to visit four of the best donut shops in the city and sample the best of the best with no lines!
Though our tour was complimentary, all opinions and photos are my own.

Underground Donut Tour: Seattle
Food Tours are one of my favorite things to do when visiting new cities (or touring my own). It introduces you to great food and new restaurants. This tour is also one of the most reasonably priced food tours I have been on, at just $30 per adult and $15 per child.
You will meet your tour guide at one of Seattle’s most popular donut shops, Top Pot Donuts. I love the vibe is this spot, in contrast to most donut shops being bright and colorful this location has a vintage feel. Top Pot has ceiling to floor book shelves filled with books and vintage televisions in glass building.
Here we sampled the chocolate cake donut and a traditional maple frosted donut. These are two donut flavors I normally wouldn’t choose but was pleasantly surprised. The maple was not overpowering and just sweet enough.
Our tour guide was Amanda and she was so sweet! (get my pun there?) Your guide will give you some history of the city and the spots you’ll be visiting. Also keep in mind that this is a walking tour so you will be walking through the city rain or shine (plan accordingly). It is not a ton of walking but there are hills involved.
Our next stop was Dahlia Bakery & Oh Mochi Donuts. These are two different businesses that share a kitchen. We sampled the mini beignets from Dahlia Bakery. Instead of a traditional beignet these are smaller in size and covered in a cinnamon sugar blend versus just powdered sugar. You will also get your choice of two dipping sauces to sample with them. We tried the apricot jam and mascarpone cheese. My personal favorite was the mascarpone!
Mochi donuts are the latest and greatest style of donuts to come to Seattle and my personal favorite. I love the squishy inside texture compared to regular donuts. From Oh Mochi we sampled a strawberry lemonade seasonal donut flavor. I also loved the fun lemon sprinkles.
The day we took our tour just so happened to be a gorgeous sun shining day and we had some beautiful views walking through the city.
Our last stop on the tour is inside one of my favorite spots in the city, Pike Place Market.
Our tour guide actually took us to a popular tourist spot (& the second most germiest spot in the world) the Seattle Gum Wall. We snapped some photos, learned how it started, and then moved on to our last donut spot.
I first discovered mini donuts when we lived in New Mexico and fell in love. Your last stop on the tour is Daily Dozen Donuts. You can watch their donut machine making these mini miracles right in front of your eyes. We sampled the classic cinnamon sugar but there are multiple flavors to choose from if you go back for more.
At the end of the tour you’ll get your choice of free swag from your tour guide including buttons, keychains, and stickers.
