The Infinite Experience - Olivia Michelle

Are you ready for an experience out of this world?! The Infinite Experience recently opened up inside the Tacoma Armory. This immersive travelling exhibit will be open for the months of June and July in Tacoma.

How much is it?
Tickets range from $22-60 per person. They offer group discounts (4+) as well as a military and student discount.Children must be 8+ years old to attend.

When is it?
Experiences are offered Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 10am to 7pm and Friday/Saturday from 10am to 8pm.

What is it?
The Infinite Experience is a 35 minute virtual reality experience through space. It gives you real 360 degree video footage of space, Earth, and inside the International Space Station. You will be able to explore the space station and watch videos inside and outside, as well as the astronauts that have lived there. Each experience is unique because you have freedom to walk through the space station as you please. While you walk through there will be videos you can watch.

What is Virtual Reality?
Virtual Reality is basically a headset that covers your eyes and has headphones with sound. Don’t worry, these are sanitised between each use. Once you put on the VR headset you will see video footage instead of what is really in front of you. This was my very first time using a VR headset and it definitely took about a minute for me to get use to it and trust walking on “thin air” through space. You will see other people around you so you won’t bump into anyone.

When I attended I met and chatted with Chris Sembroski, who was one of the four civilian crew members on the Inspiration 4 that went to space in 2021. He said this experience is the best he’s ever seen to what he actually experienced in space. It is definitely the closest I will ever get to seeing space!
