The Day the Air Force FAILED My Family
I have three specific reasons in sharing my story with you. First, to prevent this from happening to other military families that may read it before they PCS overseas. Second, to bring this issue to light, because it IS a major issue that is continuing to happen to families, and it needs to be actually DEALT with. Third, at the time of my publishing this post (six months after our move) we STILL have not been re-imbursed the $5,352.40 for our airline tickets.

Snowshoe Trip to Mount Rainier with Outdoor Rec at Joint Base Lewis-McChord
The Northwest Adventure Center is located on North Fort Lewis and does all kinds of guided trips including photography, sight-seeing, climbing, camping, hiking, snowshoeing, etc. I had seen the trips advertised but just never signed up for one until recently. I highly recommend doing a trip with them because we had a blast! Here was our experience and what to expect.

Did you know that as a military spouse there is a place where you can get two FREE dresses and an accessory each year? Operation Deploy Your Dress (ODYD) was founded on Fort Bliss in 2015 when some spouses decided to organize a dress swap. It has now grown into over 12 locations across the world.

American Lake on Joint Base Lewis-McChord is a beautiful spot for a fun day outside! Picnic tables, campsites, a marina, playgrounds, grills, and two beaches, the possibilities for fun are endless!

It's unbelievable how many Farmers Markets there are in our area. We are so spoiled to have such good options for fresh produce! We have quite a few to choose from so I'm going to give you the down low on each of them

Great Restaurants near Joint Base Lewis-McChord
There is no shortage of great places to get delicious food around JBLM. Trust me when I say there are tons of restaurants and majority of them are decent. I'm just naming a few, not even a handful of the ones in the area.

Museums to visit on Joint Base Lewis-McChord
Lewis Army Museum I was pleasantly surprised with this museum. I was expecting something small with mediocre displays but they have actually put a lot of thought, effort, and money into this museum.
