Surfjack Hotel
There are a ton of different hotels to choose from in Waikiki, but I fell in love with the Surfjack Hotel the moment we stepped inside. This quiet and homey boutique hotel sits in the heart of Waikiki and offers a great experience during your vacation. Here are a few things we loved and info about our stay.
While my stay at the Surfjack Hotel was complimentary, all photos and opinions of our stay are my own.

Surfjack Hotel
412 Lewers Street
Honolulu, HI 96815
It may not look like much on the outside, but when you walk inside you feel transported back to the sixties in a fun and bright upbeat vintage decor. This spot is just about a seven minute walk to the beach, five minute walk to shopping, and less than five minutes to tons of restaurants and convenience stores. The Surfjack Hotel is also one of the most reasonably priced hotels you can stay at in Waikiki. Nightly rates starting at just $125+. Call to inquire about Military Discounts. The best part about the Surfjack is that they are Pet Friendly. That is almost non-existent in Waikiki hotels.
While just about every corner of this boutique hotel is Instagrammable, my personal favorite photo spot is the pool. The pool is open daily for families and at 5:30pm it closes to children and is available to adults only until 9pm. While the pool may be on the small side, we felt like it was perfect. Compared to many other hotels in Waikiki, the pool at the Surfjack was never crowded. Other hotels in Waikiki we have stayed at, there are tons of people in the pool and chairs are hard to come by.
The Surfjack even has a restaurant on site, called Mahina & Suns. It is located downstairs adjacent to the pool. It is great to grab a drink or bite of lunch while you’re lounging at the pool. Take out and room service is available if you’d like to enjoy it in the privacy of your room. They also have live music almost every night outside by the pool and restaurant. You can even hear it from your room which felt so warm and welcoming to retreat to at night.

One thing that really stands out at the Surfjack is the customer service. They are friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. We also felt very safe during our stay. Since the Surfjack is only open to hotel guests there is staff monitoring the people entering the building and you have to use your room key to access the elevator.
Check out current monthly events on the website HERE.
The Surfjack loves military families, and even has mixer events for those families incoming to Hawaii. Speaking of events, when you check in you will be given an event calendar for events happening that month.
If you need to get some work done during your stay there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the Hawaiian weather downstairs. The lobby and pool area has tons of lounge chairs, picnic tables, and of course, FREE Wifi.
Another really convenient thing about the Surfjack is the coffee shop located downstairs near the lobby. When we visited it was called Olive & Oliver but it has recently been renamed to Banks Journal and operating under new ownership. The coffee was great when we visited and was not busy like most of the other coffee shops in Waikiki.
There are quite a few different types of rooms available, we stayed in a one bedroom suite. It was spacious and had very intentional spots for storage. The sectional was a great addition so we had somewhere to lounge and watch TV that wasn’t the hotel bed. They left us a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy during our stay. One of the closets in the living room had a mini fridge, ice bucket and microwave (brought up to your room upon request). There were three other closets for storage of our suitcases. Since we were eating out a lot on vacation it was perfect to have a mini fridge and microwave to be able to eat leftovers.
We had our own private balcony with a great view of downtown Waikiki.
The bathroom has a nice big vanity and the pebble floor in the shower felt like a spa for your feet. In the bathroom you will also find a cute tote bag which you are welcome to use during your stay. If you love it, they are available for purchase at the front desk for $25.
We had a king size bed in our room and I loved the style of the wallpaper mixed with a boho-beachy feel. Not to mention, the bed was really comfy.
We had a fantastic stay at the Surfjack Hotel and look forward to staying again on our next visit to Oahu. To make a reservation or view more info about the hotel, view their website HERE.
