Leeds Castle
Leeds Castle is one of my favorites that we have visited in England so far. There are many beautiful acres to explore, tons of activities for the kids, and a beautiful spot for afternoon tea. Here is what to expect on your visit to Leeds Castle.

Leeds Castle
Half Day to Full Day
Leeds Castle has a lot to offer and we definitely could have spent a full day here. From the castle itself to the extensive grounds, plus tons of activities, there is quite a bit to do. Admission tickets range from 22-40 pounds per person and allow you admission for an entire year! There are two different types of tickets, one includes boat rides and putt putt golf, the other does not include extras (but both tickets include year long entry). The parking lot is quite a walk from the castle and other activities, so be prepared.

We headed to the castle first to tour the inside. Audio guides are available free of charge and can be picked up in the get house before entering the castle.
The inside of the castle was beautiful. I loved seeing the Spanish architecture rooms, which were a gift from Henry VIII to his Spanish wife, Catherine of Aragon.
After your tour through the castle grab a bite to eat! There are a ton of places to choose from, including sit down and quick eat options. Leeds Castle also has extensive grounds which would be a fabulous backdrop for a picnic.
We chose to have lunch with the best view, at the Castle View Restaurant. Aurora and I had afternoon tea while Travis had the Sunday Roast. All of the food was delicious. You can pre book a table online for dinner, but lunch seatings are first come first served.

Behind the Castle View restaurant are the gardens. You can walk through them on the path and it will lead you to the activity area. Alternatively you can take a ferry boat to the activity area from the front of the castle.
In the summer they set up a sandy beach area complete with beach chairs and toys.
Leeds Castle has a huge wooden playground which is a kid sized replica of the castle itself. Aurora had a blast playing here.
Putt Putt golf is available at an additional charge (unless you purchased the Ultimate Explorer Ticket, then it is included). There is also a maze and a bird sanctuary to visit.
