Lakewold Gardens

Lakewold Gardens is a local estate that was turned into a Public Gardens as well as event venue. This gorgeous old home has plenty of space to walk around and let the kids play. It is only about 15-20 minutes from JBLM and offers a great afternoon activity.

Entry into Lakewold gardens is really reasonable at just $5-10 per person. They do offer a military discount. You can purchase timed entry tickets ahead of time online but that is not required. The day we went we were the only family there so I don’t think they would sell out and not have walk up tickets available. You can also check out a pass from your local Pierce County Public Library to get into the gardens for FREE.

The gardens aren’t huge but much bigger than I expected them to be. The kids had fun playing and seeing all the different types of trees and plants. It was a gorgeous sunny day in March so not everything had bloomed yet.
