Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides in Leavenworth

We finally made it to Leavenworth during winter, which is by far their busiest season. I’d always heard about the horse drawn sleigh ride so it was at the top of our list. Here’s where we went and what to expect on your horse drawn sleigh ride in Leavenworth.

There are quite a few different places to take horse drawn sleigh rides in Leavenworth. We went with Icicle Outfitters because they were more reasonably priced and they were one of the only places that weren’t already sold out. Some of the other places that offers sleigh rides are pretty expensive. We did a shared sleigh ride and it was $21 per adult / $12 youth. Children 2 and under are FREE. The sleigh ride was about thirty minutes. Icicle Outfitters offers sleigh rides during the months of December, January and February from 10am – 4pm.

Please note that temperatures in Leavenworth in the winter vary between 12-35 degrees so make sure to dress accordingly. We brought blankets to use during the ride as well.

Your sleigh ride will be about thirty minutes long. The winter wonderland views are breath taking. It is white as far as the eye can see.

When you return from your sleigh ride there are tents with wood burning stoves inside for you to warm up in. You will also be offered some complimentary hot chocolate or apple cider.
