Hidden Gems in Clovis, New Mexico
You’ll never end up in Clovis, New Mexico on vacation. If you are in Clovis, it’s because you live here. It’s not a stop on the way to a vacation spot and it’s not anywhere you would actually want to visit. So if you’re reading this, I know you’re a resident. Don’t fret, I’ve got the low down on the hidden gems that will make you feel good about your time in Clovis whether it’s for a year or two or twelve. These aren’t in any particular order, just make sure you check them all out during your time in the land of “entrapment”.
Traci’s Greenhouse
Traci’s is the Hobby Lobby for plants. Not just plants, but she also carries home decor, clothing, jewelry, gifts, outdoor items, and so much more. Traci is a local and it’s always great to support small businesses. She does events all the time like ladies night, Santa Claus photos, open houses, etc. The store is open Monday through Saturday 8 am to 6 pm. If your child attends Clovis Christian School you also might make a field trip or two over here.
Her displays and plants are literally so picture perfect that people do photo shoots inside the store. I have seen photos done inside and they look amazing! It is a $20 fee to do professional photography inside. I got a slap on the hand once because I was taking a photo for my Instagram. Okay, not literally but the sales associate approached me and I assured her I was not a professional, though I took it as a compliment.
Attached to Traci’s is Coffee Bistro. They have good coffee and really good breakfast and lunch food. Coffee Bistro is open Monday through Saturday 7 am to 6 pm and Sunday 7 am to 4 pm. On the other side of Coffee Bistro, Traci owns a large building that you can rent out for events. It is nice inside and our squadron hosted a Christmas Party there. All three of these are literally attached and have doors leading to each other so you can check them all out on the same trip.

The Makery with Salvage & Sparkle
Ready to get your crafting on? Create wreaths, paint home decor, make jewelry, garden with some plants, and even host your kids birthday party here! Lisa and Alisa are some of the sweetest (and craftiest) ladies you’ll meet and they own The Makery!
Find Salvage and Sparkle on Facebook here.
You need to purchase a ticket ahead of time for the event you’d like to attend. Sometimes they will also have drop in crafts which are cash or check only. I have made majority of the items you can make there and each event is so much fun! They also host date night crafts and mommy and me crafts. If you feel like you aren’t a crafty person, it’s okay, they will help you each step of the way! And if you hate crafting, well they can make it for you instead. If you’re browsing Pinterest and fall in love with something, they can most likely make it for you because they take custom orders!
Want to to get some girlfriends together and celebrate? They also do private parties! I hosted a private party for our squadron and we made these six foot signs. There’s snacks and drinks at each make date so they’ve got you covered. Watch their Facebook posts because they’ll often post coupon codes for 10% off a party. It’s always a good time at The Makery!
Red Door
One of my favorite new stores in town is the Red Door. Your GPS will fail you trying to get here, instead type in directions to the bank of Clovis and park in their parking lot. You will see the red door on the left side of the parking lot. Even if the door is closed, go inside! She often doesn’t leave it open because of the wind. Red Door is only open the second and fourth weekend of each month: Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 am to 5 pm.
Red Door has antiques, hand painted furniture, a few clothes, hand crafted items, home decor, etc. What I love most are the prices. She has one of a kind items without the giant price tag. A few of my favorites that I’ve snagged was an antique painted suitcase ($12), a white painted wood coffee table ($25), and some re-pourposed books ($8). She always has some snacks and coffee out during shopping times. Find her on Facebook for shopping times.
The Porch
This small shop comes in close second to Red Door. This is a house that the owner turned into a store and it’s been here for a few years. She is also only open two weekends a month. She has some great antiques, furniture, and all the farmhouse feels. She is also reasonable priced and has refreshments during open shopping.
She also has a super cute store set up which you can rent out for private events. I have been to a handful of baby showers here and it was so fun! A smaller area but it gives your event a intimate and homey vibe. Right next door you’ll find Frog and Flea. I’m not listing it separate because it’s gone downhill in the past two years and is not often stocked with new items. I would still check it out if you’re in the area but it’s one of those places with a lot of junk and one or two good finds.

Three Beautiful Messes
The best way to escape the smell of Clovis is to walk into Three Beautiful Messes. Locally owned, and she is super sweet! She is the closest thing you’ll get to Lush in hours of driving and in my opinion, better!
You can find bath bombs, bath play doh for the kids, soap, loofahs, shower bombs, sugar scrubs, and even shave kits for the guys. She makes everything in house. Grab a frequent customer card because after purchasing 10 products you’ll get one free! Three Beautiful Messes is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 am to 6 pm.
For more info, find them on Facebook here.
Olive & June Boutique
This is pretty much the only place to find cute clothes in Clovis. There is a mall but I’m a big advocate for shopping small (as I’m sure you can guess). Olive and June was recently taken over by a local so is under new ownership. She has done great taking it over and the store has some really cute items. I knew the previous owner and did some modeling for the store, so I’ve been shopping here for a while! They have reasonable prices and are not one of those super expensive boutiques. They offer a 10% military discount.
Olive & June is open Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm. For more information, check them out on Facebook here.
Main Street Antique Shops
If you walk up and down Main Street, you’ll find at least twenty shops. Most are antiques and the kind of stores you need to “dig” in. My personal favorites are: Two Shabby Divas, Prairie Road Junktiques, and Exhibit A.
Other stores to check out:
Crafter’s Mall, Penny Lane Antiques, and Bullet Bobs.
Milk House Market
Okay, I know what you’re thinking, Milk House Market is not in Clovis. However, it’s only a short 45 minute drive from Clovis and it is SO worth the drive. Don’t forget about the hour time change crossing over into Texas as well. Milk House Market is open Thursday through Friday, 11 am to 5 pm and Saturday 11 am to 3 pm Central Standard Time.
If you have been craving to go to Magnolia but can’t make the trip to Waco, this is where you need to visit. It is all the Farmhouse decor you’ve been looking for and a bit cheaper than Magnolia’s price tags. If you sign up for emails, you can get a 20% off coupon to use in store. I bought so much guys. But I saved money because I could’ve bought everything in the store. The owner is super sweet and her kiddos attend the same school as Aurora.
