Edinburgh Food Tour with Eat Walk Tours
Food Tours are always one of my favorite things to do on trips! Not only do you get to learn about the history of where you are visiting but you also get to immerse yourself in a tasting of local delicacies. On our visit to Edinburgh, Scotland we took a walking food tour with Eat Walk Tours.
Though our tour was complimentary, all photos and opinions in this article are on my own.
Eat Walk Tours offers food tours in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and St.Andrews. Our tour was throughout old town and new town Edinburgh. It started with a nice walk past some lovely monuments with a bit of history and some fun facts.

Our first stop was a lovely light breakfast at Hula. We sampled the “Popeye” juice and had a traditional Scottish breakfast, porridge with blueberries and honey. I am always a bit skeptical of green juice but the blend of spinach, nutmeg, lemon and apple was actually delicious.
Whighams, our next stop, was over on the new side of town. This wine bar has mood lighting and old wine cellar booths to dine in. We got to try a local dish created with a new twist, a haggis fritter. I had tried haggis previously on the trip but this way was much better! Don’t go Googling what exactly haggis is, just trust me when I say it’s a must try on your visit to Scotland! We also had a small sampling of cullen skink soup and your choice of wine or scotch.
Our third stop was my personal favorite, Rabble. I loved the charm and Italian vibe on the inside but the restaurant had a great selection of Scottish food. We ate (more like scarfed down) a Scotch egg wrapped in ham hock and a smoked macaroni and cheese. There was also a side of potatoes with a sauce so good I could’ve bathed in it. Needless to say our plates were wiped clean.
Last, but certainly not least, was Bastard Barista. We were already pretty full but I always have room for dessert! Here we got to have an assortment of cakes as well as a coffee or tea of your choice. The cakes we sampled were bergamot, carrot, raspberry and sticky toffee. The raspberry was my personal favorite. I also enjoyed a tiramisu latte.
We had a fabulous time tasting our way through old town & new town Edinburgh with Eat Walk Tours! If you are planning a trip to Edinburgh, Glasgow, or St. Andrews, check out their website HERE to book.
