Cesky Krumlov in Winter
We spent one day visiting Cesky Krumlov during our weekend in Prague. It was in January and was snowing magically the day we went. Though it is a very small town, it is full of charm and beauty. Here is what to see on a day in Cesky Krumlov.

Cesky Krumlov Day Trip from Prague
We took a guided tour from Prague to get to Cesky Krumlov. It is about three hours from Prague. The tour we did included transportation and guided walking tour when we got to Cesky Krumlov as well as free time.

As beautiful as the city was in winter I wish we could’ve seen how pretty the buildings were without all of the snow. Below is a photo of the city without snow courtesy of Google. Cesky Krumlov is a beautiful fairytale city that sees millions of visitors each year. Cesky Krumlov is also known as “Bohemia”.

I would not say that there is a ton to do in Cesky Krumlov, but just walking around the city is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for us. I think one day was plenty!
Cesky Krumlov Castle & Gardens
The castle and gardens are open seasonally. There is also a museum located inside the castle. We were only able to walk around the outside of the castle when we visited, but I would’ve loved to see the inside and the gardens.

Svornosti Square & Prague Column
The square is full of the prettiest colorful buildings, souvenir shops and restaurants. This is also where you can find the Tourism office if you need suggestions, info, or a map.

Grab Lunch at Krcma Satlava
This spot is simply a MUST when you visit. It is by far one of the best meals I have ever eaten (and I’m a huge foodie)! The setting is also very unique. This restaurant still cooks using medieval methods and is set where you feel like you are eating in a cave. We had one of the specials and the steak was literally melt in your mouth.

Gingerbread at Cesky Pernik
During your visit you have to go to Cesky Pernik and grab some gingerbread! It was so delicious and they have so many fun shapes. Important to note that they accept CASH ONLY, no cards.
