Axe Throwing at Flannel Jax

Axe throwing has quickly become the latest and greatest date night activity. I had heard about it but hadn’t tried yet for ourselves. Seattle recently got a Flannel Jax and we were excited to try it out.

For axe throwing your group will be on a “lane” and will have an employee with you the entire session. They are there to give you the low down of how to throw, make you feel comfortable, and keep track of score for the games you play. You can book ahead of time and schedule for two hour sessions, but walk ins are also accepted. Prices run from $25-40 per person. Close toed shoes are REQUIRED so plan your outfit accordingly.

Snacks and drinks are available for purchase during your session at the Snack Bar. Once you sign your waiver you are ready to throw!

This social experience is fun for any group of people, and I highly suggest a group versus just two people. Travis and I still had a blast but lets be real, he beat me at all the games.

I was really nervous at first but once our guide showed us how to throw, I got the hang of it. I even got a few bullseyes! The axe is pretty heavy in my opinion, so I threw double handed over my head. Travis was able to throw one handed.

Travis was so good he actually threw a perfect game! A perfect game consists of one money shot (the little green dot on the board) and 10 bullseyes in a row. He was the very first person to do this at the Seattle location so he got his name written on the wall behind the snack bar.
