Aurora’s 9th American Girl Doll Tea Party
Aurora decided on an American Girl Doll Tea Party this year for her ninth birthday. We found the cutest Tea Room to have it at called the Trellis Café & Boutique in Puyallup, Washington. Here is what we did for her party and details about favors, her dress, the dolls, and more.

The Trellis Cafe was already decorated in the cutest Shabby Chic decor full of charm so all I had to do was bring a few things. I purchased these cute balloons for cheap. I loved how they said “par-tea” instead of “party”.
Aurora’s entire outfit is from the same website! You can shop each item by clicking the image above. Her dress came in multiple prints and patterns and was under $50. I mean how cute is that fascinator?!
The Trellis Cafe made her cake to match the party. It was actually one of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted! The Trellis provided all of the food, drink, and two of these cakes. They also provided the service of serving the girls. I paid $25 per child for the high tea. Parents had the option to order anything off the menu and pay for their own food.
Aurora has a few American Girl Dolls. I had the option for girls to borrow one of Aurora’s dolls for the party if they did not have an American Girl Doll or similar 18″ doll. I played with American Girl Dolls when I was a child and still have all of mine. I highly recommend these dolls since they are very well made and last through multiple lifetimes. The one in the photo above is an old Bitty Baby doll, which was the first doll we bought Aurora when she was two. Bitty Babys are a great starter option for younger kids and are a bit cheaper than the full size dolls.
Upon arrival each girl was presented with a strand of faux pearls and a pair of gloves to put on. For favors I purchased tea cup and saucer sets and filled them with tea bags, then wrapped them in cellophane and ribbon.
Each doll also has their own place setting to include a tea cup, tea pot, plate, utensil, napkin, and fake treat. I purchase doll chairs that fit on the side of a table for the dolls to sit in.
The doll Aurora is holding here is her newest American Girl Doll which we purchase last year. This doll is from the Truly Me Collection which has hundreds of different customizations for hair color, length and style and skin color, etc. They released these new fun hair colors recently. The Truly Me Dolls are also a little bit cheaper than the traditional character dolls. I also linked the cute pink dress her doll is wearing above.
The girls really enjoyed everything about the party. Trellis Cafe let us pick music so Aurora chose Kidz Bop.
High Tea service included: scones with cream, a tea pot with their choice of lemonade or tea, tea sandwiches, desserts and fruit.
Trellis Cafe has some delicious scones. I love the Marionberry scones. They also have blueberry and a seasonal flavor.
Trellis Cafe even made the sandwiches into princess tiaras. Their attention to detail was phenomenal.
