Historic Downtown Sumner
Live like the mountain is out! If you’ve been to Downtown Sumner, you’ll recognize the South Sound Proud mural. Downtown Sumner has so many cute shops to browse and lots of restaurants to grab a bite to eat! Here are a few of our favorites!
Before shopping we were starving so we decided to grab lunch at Sorci’s Italian Cafe. I got the chicken Parmesan sandwich and it was delicious. Sorci’s was hoppin and we got the last open table. I highly recommend! For more info about Sorci’s Italian Cafe, click here.
Make sure you walk down the side streets as well as the main drag, because there are shops and restaurants there too. Van Lierop Garden Market is close to Sorci’s and is a gift shop, floral shop, and plant nursery. We enjoyed walking through and they had a great selection. There are quite a few antique shops downtown, and they’ve got a great variety of items! Antique Shops to Browse: Off the Beaten Path Junker’s Nest
I’m a huge advocate for shopping small and supporting your locally owned small businesses. Downtown Sumner has got something for everyone on your list! Gift Shops to check out in Downtown Sumner include: Pamela’s on Main A Picket Fence
Intra Vintage is one of my favorites because it is a booth rental shop. Booth rental shops always have a great variety because it is a mixture of several shops under one roof. Whispering Hills Market is also a booth rental shop and they have some really great Farmhouse items including decor, painted furniture, etc. For more info on Intra Vintage, click here. If you are in need of some kitchen gadgets, dip mixes, or a new set of pots and pans, check out Simple Tidings & Kitchen. They have a huge selection of all those kitchen utensils you never knew you needed! For more info on Simple Tidings & Kitchen, click here.
In need of a new book? Check out, A Good Book! Here’s your cute old timey bookstore with nooks for reading. We grabbed Aurora a few children’s books for gifts while we were here. For more info on A Good Book, click here.
So let’s talk my favorite, boutiques! Clothes are my thing and Kissed By Chloe is one of the cutest clothing stores I’ve ever seen! (besides my own store, Liv & Rory Boutique, but hey I may be biased). She has a shabby chi/rustic feel and not just clothes, she also has some “heirlooms, decor, and funky junk”. For more info on Kissed By Chloe, click here.
If you’re looking for a children’s boutique or baby items, look no further than Sugar Babies. They’ve got everything you need for a soon to be Mom. If you are pregnant, you can actually create a registry here as they carry baby furniture, strollers, car seats, and tons more. For more info on Sugar Babies, click here.
Before heading out we decided to stop in and grab dessert at Craft 19. This charming Cafe is a Creperie and Espresso shop. Tons of places to sit and hang out, there’s even a study room that is completely glassed enclosed and quiet if you need somewhere to get work done. We grabbed a Nutella crepe, holy YUM. It was delicious. Also, don’t forget to go outside and grab your photo on their big mural before you leave. For more info about Craft 19, click here.
Short note, this is not all of the restaurants and stores located in Sumner, there are more! Quite a few places are closed on Mondays, which is the day we went. For a complete listing of businesses and things to do in Downtown Sumner, click here and here.
