Westin Desert Willow Villas Palm Desert
We had a fantastic stay at the Westin Desert Willow Villas in Palm Desert, California. This resort is huge and has large, multi-room villas, pools with water slides and restaurants on site. Here is some info on our experience and what to expect during your stay.

Palm Desert is just a short drive away from Palm Springs and a mere 14 miles from the Palm Springs Airport. The resort is big and has multiple buildings and parking lots. We stayed in Building 9 and wished we were a bit closer to the main building. The only thing we disliked about the resort is how spread out it was, and the fact that it is not dog friendly. Also keep in mind there is a $20 per night parking fee.
We stayed in a one bedroom villa and it had a kitchenette with a full size fridge/freezer, microwave, stove top and dishwasher. The cabinets were fully stocked with everything you’ll need. The dining area had a table and four chairs.
We had a king size bed in our bedroom and it had a nice balcony with an outdoor table and chair set to enjoy the fresh air. In the closet we had two big comfy robes to use during our stay. We could see the “Quiet Pool” from our room.
The bathroom was very spacious and had pool towels available for our use.
Every unit also has a washer and dryer with some detergent packets in case you need to do laundry during your stay.

The resort has two beautiful golf courses. The sunsets over the greens are amazing.

The main pool area near the lobby had three pools, two hot tubs, and a water slide. This area and pool were our personal favorite. It was about a ten minute walk from our building or we could drive and park closer.
There is also a restaurant and bar outside at the main pool area. We ate here multiple times and the food was good, obviously a bit pricey. When we visited this was the only restaurant open on site.
One of the things I love about staying at resorts is that they offer activities that are included in your resort stay. There were daily activities including crafts, competitions, games, and movie nights. Aurora participated in the hula hoop contest, we made smores one night, and we watched one of the poolside outdoor movies. There was also yoga classes available for adults.
As I mentioned previously there are several different pool areas around the property. The Ironwood Pool also has a slide. The Quiet Pool has a pool and hot tub, as is labeled as a “quiet” area so you cannot be loud. All buildings have an outdoor grilling area which makes it nice if you want to cook for dinner.
Inside the same building as the lobby there is a gift shop with a café. The gift shop has souvenirs but also has some grocery type items and things you may end up needing last minute. The Cafe has some pre-packaged grab and go food items as well as Starbucks coffee and drinks.
