Insect Lifecycles
This is one of my favorite things we did when homeschooling! Amazon has multiple insect kits to do at home. Get a butterfly kit to watch the caterpillars cocoon, hatch, and grow! Grab an ant farm to see how they make ant hills from the inside. Get a ladybug kit to watch them hatch, grow, and develop spots. Click the photo below to view and shop. Most are under $30 with free shipping.
At Home Science Experiments
There are tons of cheap books available that tell you how to set up and do experiments with items you already have at home. Most call for things like food coloring, baking soda, water, paper, etc. Also don’t forget that baking has plenty of math and science involved. What makes bread rise? Why does it matter how you measure ingredients?
Geology
If your kid loves digging in the dirt or is fascinated with rocks then these kits are for you! These fun kits by National Geographic offer geodes, rocks, fossils, and more.
