Slide Rock State Park is vehicle entry only (no drop offs or walk ins). Entry is $10-30 per vehicle depending on seasonal rates of when you visit. They do offer a military discount. Hours at the swimming hole are 8am – 5pm. Slide Rock has nice facilities and restrooms throughout the park. There is also a market that has ice, food, ice cream, drinks and floats available for purchase. Though dogs are allowed inside the park, they are not allowed at the swimming hole and cannot be left alone in the vehicle. There are picnic tables and charcoal grills if you’d like to have a picnic.

Down at the swimming area there is plenty of room to spread out. There are not very many shady spots but they can be found.

You do not need a tube to slide down the rock but Aurora definitely enjoyed the tube more than sliding down on her bottom! Several areas are deep enough to swim in and there are spots where you can jump.
