Secret Food Tours: Las Vegas

Food tours have become one of my favorite things to do when visiting other cities. They usually give you a history of the city and take you to the best places to eat. Even if it’s a whole in the wall that you never would’ve found on Yelp, the Food Tours know where the good eats are!

This food tour was a little different than the last one we did in Vegas, and I loved that they were different. We did a tour with Secret Food Tours. They host food tours all over the world. One thing about this tour, they don’t actually disclose where you are going or what you’ll be eating, hence the “secret”. In comparison with the Taste Buzz Food Tour we did, Secret Food Tours is a bit more upscale. Taste Buzz Tour was under $100 per person and we visited more quick eats and dessert/snack stops. Secret Food Tours was nice because we went into restaurants and actually sat down to eat inside at most places. Secret Food Tours is also more expensive at $120 per person. Spago by Wolfgang Puck
This is your first stop and also your meeting point. Spago is located inside the Bellaggio Resort on the Strip. This is a restaurant by Wolfgang Puck, a popular company. It overlooks the beautiful fountains and would be a fantastic spot for viewing the show.

At Spago we ate the Prosciutto & Butternut Squash Pizza. Now this one really surprised me because it’s something I would’ve NEVER ordered on a menu. The combination was so wild and different for a pizza. It was delicious and the flavors work so well together.

The next stop I’m keeping a secret, but I’ll give you a hint…this famous chef has several restaurants in Las Vegas. This restaurant is a British themed pub/restaurant and we tried two appetizers. First we ate the Scotch Egg. Holy cow. Who would’ve thought to put a boiled egg on a menu as an appetizer? This one is so delectable, it is a boiled egg wrapped in Portuguese Sausage, rolled in panko bread crumbs and deep fried.

The next appetizer we tried was the Hummus. This hummus is particularly creamy and soft and was amazing with the Naan bread.

Our third stop is a bit hard to hide so I’m also disclosing this one. This is one of my favorite sweet treats from a tropical place, Honolulu Cookie Co! Las Vegas is the only spot you’ll find these cookies off of the islands.

Honolulu Cookie Co has tons of different flavors, all of which you will get to sample. As part of the tour they will send you home with a few different kinds. My favorites are the chocolate chip macadamia and the Mango.

Las Vegas actually has a few locations of Honolulu Cookie Co, find them HERE.

The Las Vegas stores have exclusive Las Vegas themed boxes and gift containers.

Our next stop is staying a secret but I’ll give you a hint. The owner is a Boss. A cake boss. We each got our own Mac & Cheese Carbonara. I have never had a mac and cheese like this before. It was a white sauce, not quite alfredo (the same base) but so so creamy. It had peas and was topped with bread crumbs. It was absolutely delicious.

The other item we had were Meatball Sliders. These mini burgers had meatballs between two buns topped with provolone cheese and tomato ragu sauce. I was so stuffed at this point I could barely eat half but it wasn’t because it wasn’t good enough. It’s the best take on a meatball sub I’ve ever had.

Stop five was a sweet stop (desserts are my favorite) and it contained a type of chocolate I have never tried before. This Japanese Chocolatier has found a way to make chocolate the consistency of butter. So creamy and soft it literally melts in your mouth. These are called the Nama chocolates and they were my favorite.

You will get to sample about ten different types of chocolate that they carry. You’ll get to try some unique flavors like matcha and multi-berry. An interesting taste, you’ll get to try a chocolate covered potato chip as well.

The last stop on the tour is also a sweet stop, and you’ll get to grab your choice of flavor macaroon. I love macaroons. Paris is one of my favorite places in the world and these tiny desserts are a French treat.

I chose Passion fruit and it did not disappoint. My mom grabbed the chocolate cherry flavor and it was also good!

The tour ends at this delightful bakery inside the Venetian and this is where you will say your goodbyes!
