Paradise Cove Luau

Paradise Cove is Oahu’s #1 rated Luau and it’s a must do during your trip. Not just a Luau, this event includes an all you can eat buffet, entertainment, activities, crafts, and more. Here you can find everything you need to know about packages, pricing, what it includes and our experience at the Luau.

Transportation
You can book a package with Paradise Cove including transportation from your hotel (this is what we did). Round trip transportation is $18 per person round trip and is provided on a large charter bus. If you have a rental car or are staying in Ko’Olina you can purchase a ticket without transportation.

Packages
There are three different packages you can purchase for the luau: Hawaiian, Orchid, and Deluxe. The main difference in these is the lei you receive upon arrival, seating spot, and the amount of money you get loaded on your luau card. The Hawaiian package provides a shell lei upon arrival, the furthest seating, and $12 per adult loaded onto your luau card. The Orchid package includes a fresh flower lei, middle seating, and $16 per adult loaded onto your luau card. The Deluxe package includes a fresh flower or nut lei, premium seating, $20 per adult loaded onto your card, a souvenir photo, complimentary gift, and table service dining (versus the buffet). Everyone has access to the same activities and is served the same food.

We personally did the Hawaiian package because it was expensive already. Now I will say our seating SUCKED. I would’ve paid for the deluxe just for the seats because we couldn’t really see the luau at all. Your luau card can be used to purchase extra drinks or inside the gift hop. I felt like our cards were plenty for the Hawaiian package.

Upon arrival everyone will receive a Mai Tai! Those under 21 will get a juice. You’ll be waiting in line for a souvenir photo before entry (required to do but not to purchase).

After entering you’ll get an hour and a half to enjoy the activities. These include live music, canoe rides, spear throwing, Hawaiian bowling, lei making, and more.

All of the activities are free and included in the price of admission.

During your activities there will also be entertainment like live music, shower of flowers, and they might grab your husband to dance in grass skirt! They chose Travis!

If you can volunteer your husband, do it! It was hilarious watching all these men shake their butts in front of everyone.

They will also pull in the “fish nets”.

Make sure to stop and catch the sunset. It was a gorgeous combination of blue and pink the night we went.

Aurora and I decided to wear one of our many matching Lilly Pulitzer sets. They were absolutely perfect for our trip to Hawaii. Below are some current styles on the website. Click to view and shop!

The luau is not the place for high heels. Wear flip flops or sandals because the entire place is a beach! They do have a spot to rinse off your feet.

The last presentation is showing the traditional Hawaiian way of cooking a whole pig. They are the only luau that still cooks the whole pig in the ground the traditional Hawaiian way.

There is a bar with specialty drinks that you can use your luau card to purchase. It is open the entire time you’re at the luau.

You can also use your luau card to purchase souvenir items in the gift shop.

As I mentioned before our seats sucked. We were at the very end of the table the furthest away from the stage. We could barely see since everyone else was seated next to us as well. Seating has to do with which package you purchase.

Before the show starts everyone will have their chance to go through the buffet. It will stay open during the whole show.

The food was delicious, it was a traditional Hawaiian luau menu.

The small part of the show we saw (because we couldn’t see worth a crap) was fabulous. Here are some photos from Google since I got zero good ones!

They will take a few intermissions and at one point they’ll ask if anyone wants to come on stage and learn how to Hula dance. Aurora went up and danced! They’ll also give you a professional hula girl certificate after.

Overall we had a great time thought it makes for a late night. We were picked up at our hotel in Waikiki at 3:45 and did not get back until 10:00.
