Palm Springs Door Tour - Olivia Michelle

Palm Springs is home to the largest collection of Mid-Century Modern architecture in the United States. These picture perfect million dollar homes are everywhere in Palm Springs and we LOVED driving around to look at them. Here are some of our favorites and where to find them.

I confess that I did not find all of these doors on my own! I’m also only sharing a few of my favorites, since I know you don’t actually want to scroll through 200 photos of doors. I purchased the Fabulous Doors of Palm Springs e-book from Modern Tours Palm Springs. The e-book is only $9.99 so I thought it was worth the price for addresses of 30+ fun doors. I also wanted to scope out the best doors with a plan, rather than just driving around. BUT I also highly suggest driving around in addition to seeing your favorite doors, because practically every house is astounding. When is the best time to go?
I suggest going early in the morning when the sun is low, its not as hot and you can get better lighting with the doors. There are also not as many people out and about so you’re less likely to disturb anyone. We found most people very nice and welcoming, just keep in mind that these are residences so be respectful.

1100 East Sierra Way
You are looking at the MOST photographed door in Palm Springs. The “pink door” even has it’s own Instagram hashtag. It is a glorious six foot wonder and I absolutely adore it.

1076 East Sierra Way
This house is known as the “lion house” and switches out these fun inflatables or changes the decor of the lions seasonally. They are neighbors with the pink door house!

This fabulous building is the Parker Palm Springs. If you have a few minutes I highly recommend checking out the lobby too. This hotel is Instagrammable inside and out.
